This video seems like a fitting way to close out the week. It features some amazing landscapes from England, Scotland and the Himalaya of India and Nepal, shot in timelapse. In each of these settings, the clouds in the sky overhead add a level of beauty and drama, as they drift by, twisting and turning in the wind. This if five minutes of pure bliss, set to a rousing soundtrack.

Here's a wonderful little video that is sure to mesmerize and delight. It features a series of timelapse images shot in hyper-realistic fashion that makes everything that is taking place look like it is incredibly small. It is almost as if you're looking into a miniature world of tiny people exploring the globe. Shot in Norway and Iceland, I can assure you however that these are all real photographs of real places and real people. It is a wonderful way to look at the world around us.

There is no question that Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. The changing of the leaves and the arrival of cooler weather is always a welcome change. This timelapse video captures that season very well, offering up some wonderful images of the arrival of the fall in the mountains. We have just a few days left until the official start of winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, and we should cherish it while we can. Winter is coming, and it brings its own special type of beauty along with it.

Most of us won't have the opportunity to visit Antartica ourselves, so we have to find alternate means of visiting that incredibly beautiful place. This video was shot by Andrew Peacock, a medical doctor (
and fantastic photographer) who teaches expedition medicine courses. Andrew recently wrapped up just such a course aboard the
National Geographic Explorer, a ship operated by
Lindblad Expeditions. While he was aboard the
Explorer the vessel completed a cruise through the Lemaire Channel, an 11 km (6.8 mile) passage that is just 1600 meters wide at its narrowest point. This leg of his Antarctic journey made for a scenic route, which Andrew captured in timelapse. As you'll see below, this amazing part of the world is simply too beautiful for words.
Thanks to Andrew for sharing this with us. I hope everyone enjoys it.

This wonderful video follows photographer David McColm as he travels into the backcountry near Whistler, British Columbia to capture some fantastic shots of the landscapes there, and specifically timelapse images of the Northern Lights. It gives us a glimpse of the lengths that David, and other photographers like him, go to just to get the best shot possible. In addition to watching him work, which should prove interesting to other photographers, the video also provides some excellent examples of his work as well. Great stuff.

This video is a teaser-trailer of sorts for a project put together by a team of filmmakers who want to capture some of the world's most endangered landscapes in order to preserve them for future generations. They took their cameras to a number of beautiful locations, many of which are threatened by a variety of things, including extreme draught, glacial melt, tectonic activity, and so on. The timelapse imagery that they captured in these places is nothing short of stunning. The clip below gives us a glimpse of their work, which will eventually comprise a 90-minute documentary that they are looking to
get funded on IndieGoGo.
